“Homeless veteran mother passed going through a hard time losing all hope and faith please help anyway you can”
David sat on a street in NYC head held down low in sadness. When asked about his mother he said she was his angel of hope and with her gone he feels as if there is nothing left for him. So, I squatted down beside him and asked him if he could share his favorite memory of her and he told me that his favorite memory was her watching him graduate from boot camp. For him this was life changing he states as this helped in redirecting his life back on track however he said his transition out left him feeling empty and alone. David told me that he was an ammunition specialist while he was in from 2002–2006. He said after he got out, he bounced around a few jobs however he never gained the proper life skills to sustain himself because while he was in he was so dependent on everything being provided.
