Timothy is another Boston local who served his time in the Airforce as a weapons specialist mechanic and now lives on the streets of Boston. He was recently granted a shelter which he shares with a few close veterans that live on the street because he said he knows how hard it is out there in the winter. He told me that his time in the service was cut short because he had a rare heart condition where he had heart failure however he was able to complete his initial contract, however with being forced out with his condition he hadn’t planned what was next. He told me that he is enrolling in a program similar to technical school training to be able to help empower other homeless veterans to help themselves get off the street. He said while he was stationed, he met a few friends from the Boston area who he is still close with. His hopes are that one day he can be completely off of the streets in a suitable living arrangement. He said there is nothing worse than having a temporary spot to call yours and local authorities know you are homeless and tell you to move on to another location.
