“Excuse me sir can you help me charge my battery to my cell phone" was the question I was asked as I was in passing. luckily on all my travels and shooting expeditions I carry a Goal Zero Sherpa 100, and Nomad 28. So, while we talked about his time in the Us Navy his phone charged. Mr. Jeff Heegel serving from 93- 98 worked as a mechanic for a GSM gas turbine engine ship. He deployed to Japan for 2 yrs. total. After his time in the US Navy he experienced an apt fire in Brooklyn NYC which was his home of record. Due to his lack of insurance he wasn't able to get assistance and recover his belongings. He said he had a friend in NC who helped out for a little while and since then had been living on the streets. One of the items he was able to recover was his hat USS Fife DD-991. He told me the FIFE was the best home he had.
